Research Activities
The Institute has achieved the mega grand success always in terms of Projects submitted by the faculties and grant received from the AICTE during the year 2007-2008.
The faculty members of HPI had submitted 9 research projects to AICTE Research Promotion scheme out of nine AICTE has sanctioned 5 research projects during this year. The details of sanctioned research projects are given below
- An amount of Rs. 17.00 lakhs has been sanctioned and released by the AICTE to Dr. K. Gauthaman, T.S. Mohamed Saleem and V.Ravi against the AICTE RPS (C) scheme the project entitled “Cardioprotective properties of Black Tea on oxidative stress model of myocardial ischemic reperfusion injury - A molecular pharmacological study.”
- An amount of Rs. 8.50 lakhs has been sanctioned and release by AICTE to Mr. S. Vijayakumar and Dr. K. Gauthaman against the AICTE RPS (B) scheme the project entitled “Non-lipid lowering properties of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors.”
- An amount of Rs. 6.00 lakhs has been sanctioned and release by AICTE to Mr. Sita Sharan Patel, Dr. K. Gauthaman and Bhupendra Shrestha against the AICTE RPS (B) scheme the project entitled “Evaluation of antihypertensive activity of combined extract of Passiflora nepalensis and Bombax ceiba on acute and chronic renal hypertensive rats.”
- An amount of Rs. 10.75 lakhs has been sanctioned and release by AICTE to Mr. T.S. Mohamed Saleem and Dr. K. Gauthaman against the AICTE RPS (B) scheme the project entitled “Study of role of ACE inhibitors in combination with Angiotensin Receptor Blockers on various models of myocardial ischemic reperfusion injury – A molecular approach.”
- An amount of Rs. 9.00 lakhs has been sanctioned and release by AICTE to Mr. V. Ravi and Dr. K. Gauthaman against the AICTE RPS (B) scheme the project entitled “Development of cardioprotective lead molecule form Bombax ceiba flowers: A – pharmacological and molecular biological study”
